Trisha Ferguson, daughter of Rick & Beth Ferguson, received one of three IAA Foundation General Scholarships awarded at the $7,500 level.  The general scholarships go to individuals for the study of agriculture, agribusiness, or an ag-related major at an accredited university, college, or community college in the state of Illinois. Ferguson is majoring in Agriculture Communications at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

“It is an honor and a privilege to support so many bright and deserving young students through our growing and diverse scholarship program,” said Susan Moore, IAA Foundation Director.  “We will witness the future of the agriculture industry through these students, and it’s a great thing to say we were all a part of that.”

In total, 57 students have been awarded scholarships from the IAA Foundation for the 2013-2014 school year based on their academic ability, financial need, leadership involvement, and professional career goals.  Through generous contributors and funds set up to honor loved ones and leaders committed to agriculture, a sum of $125,900 will be invested through tuition assistance for the upcoming school year.

Since 1989, the IAA Foundation has awarded 677 scholarships.  Applications for the 2014-2015 school year will be available on December 1, 2013.  Specific details and eligibility requirements can be found online at www.iaafoundation.org.
