US Farmers & Ranchers- Face of Farming- Katie Pratt to Speak

Katie Pratt

Katie Pratt, a US Farmers & Ranchers Alliance-Face of Farming, will present a special workshop on February 8th from 2 to 4 p.m. at WIU in the Stipes Hall conference room.

Pratt’s presentation is titled- Storytelling 101 Mechanic, marketer, agronomist, harvester, semi-driver, electrician, seed sales, and public relations expert.  Add the latter to your daily task of things to do and join the Conversation.  We know people are talking about food and farms, but are you? Telling your farm/food story might seem overwhelming but it is as simple as answering Who, What, Where, When, Why & How.  It’s Storytelling 101.

Katie and her husband, Andy (a seventh generation farmer), currently farm in partnership with Andy’s family. They raise corn, soybeans and seed corn for a regional family-owned company. They welcome tour groups to their farm as part of a family tradition, which started back in the early 1970s. Katie blogs about life on their farm at www. illinoisfarmgirl.wordpress.com and works with the US Farmers & Ranchers Alliance as an advocate for agriculture.

The presentation is open to all Farm Bureau members, Illinois Agriculture Leadership Foundation graduates and current class members and WIU students. To register please call the McDonough County Farm Bureau office at 309-837-3350 or click HERE!
