AREA FARM BUREAUS HOST WIND / SOLAR FARM INFORMATION MEETING

he decision to sign an agreement to participate in a wind or solar farm requires careful consideration. Both the benefits and the impacts of the wind or solar farm could last for decades, and the agreements are very complicated.

As wind and solar companies propose expansions in new areas of Western Illinois, several County Farm Bureau organizations have partnered to offer an informational meeting for landowners.

Plan to join the McDonough, Fulton, and Schuyler County Farm Bureaus at a meeting on Tuesday, February 28th at 1 p.m. at the Farm Bureau Building in Lewistown (15411 N IL 100 HWY, Lewistown).

Illinois Farm Bureau staff members from the Office of General Council and from the Governmental Affairs and Commodities Division will conduct the meeting. Attendees will learn about what they should consider before signing any agreement. Specific topics to be covered include what to look for in proposed leases and tips on how to negotiate a better lease when working with a renewable energy company.

Contact the McDonough County Farm Bureau at (309) 837-3350 or on our website (under the upcoming events tab) to register for this informative meeting before Friday, February 24th.
